Identification unclear.
The Dictionary of Living Authors identifies Samuel Hull Wilcocke, M.D. as the translator of Zimmerman's Essay on National Pride (1796), and the author of Britainnia, a poem (1797); a Dictionary of the English and Dutch Languages (1798) and A History of the Vice-royalty of Buenos Aires (1809). In the London Gazette for 3 September 1805, Samuel Hull Wilcocke is registered as declared bankrupt in Liverpool. It is possible this is the same person.
There are many Wilcocke entries, several without an initial. The most common seems to be G Wilcocke, and it is likely that entries without an initial may relate to him. There is one entry for S and G Wilcocke in March 1810 suggesting that S H may be related to G Wilcocke. Nonetheless, only expressly S H Wilcocke entries have been coded as such. G Wilcocke entries start in 1807 but plain Wilcocke entries begin in 1796.
