  • Name: Teasdale, Richard
  • Gender: Male
  • Birth Date:
  • Death Date:
  • Occupation: solicitor

Probable identification - Richard Teasdale, Solicitor of Merchant Taylor Hall; although it is possible that this is another solicitor, Teasdale, of Weston and Teasdale, 31 Fenchurch Street. The pattern of contacts strongly suggest that Godwin is seeking legal advice or is engaged in seeking to secure the Stone brothers as partners in his business. The contact is almost entirely one sided - Marshall, Charles Clairmont or Godwin call on or come from Teasdale (although on one occasion a clerk from Teasdale calls), and the contacts are intensive between March and June 1814, after the auction of the second of Shelley's post obit bonds, and before the elopment of Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft-Godwin.
