Mme de Stael visits England in 1813. Her former lover Benjamin Constant had begun a translation of Political Justice that was not completed and there is a suggestion that they had collaborated on this. It is notable that when Constant visits England 18 months later he does not meet Godwin and probably does not attempt to visit him - it is likely that Mme de Stael's correspondence gave clear guidance on who was, or was not, worth meeting!
Godwin also notes her death.
