Jean Baptiste Say, the French political economist, travelled to England in 1814 to study the economic condition of the UK. The first entry, 'Say from Slabrendorf' suggests that Say had a note of introduction from, or came at the request or recommendation of Count Slabrendorf, a Swedish acquaintance of Mary Wollstonecraft mentioned in Chapter 7 of Godwin's Memoirs.
