William (or Willey) Reveley was the husband of Maria Reveley née James, later Maria Gisbourne. The couple met and married in Rome. Reveley was an architect, illustrator of The Antiquities of Athens and he worked with Bentham on drawings for the design of Bentham’s panopticon. The couple had two children one of whom, Henry Reveley, became a friend of Shelley.
.Godwin records his death in July 1799.
His DNB entry is under Willey Reveley although in his wife's entry he is referred to as William. The obituaries of him (e.g., Sun 10 July 1799; and Whitehall Evening Post) have him as Mr Revely - no first name and a shortened last name.
In his encouters with Bentham see Maria Reveley's account: MS. Abinger c. 44 fols. 49-50: n.d.
