Wife of William Radcliffe, journalist.

There is no categorical evidence that Godwin and Mrs Radcliffe met. The two diary entries that clearly refer to her are 9 October 1795, 'Write to mrs Radcliffe' (the letter is not in Abinger) and 7 February 1823 when Godwin records her death.
However, we have also coded her as present when Godwin writes 'Radcliffe's', (as is the pattern with Lamb's, Reynolds's, Reveley's and a number of other couples).
This involves two entries,
23 April 1794: 'tea at Radcliffe's, talk of morals and fortitude'
14 May 1794: 'Meet Radcliffe's'.
The latter is particularly convincing, with Godwin characteristically mis-using the apostrophe.
