This identification is tentative as Paradise is not mentioned in many of sources on Godwin. Paradise's dates do coincide, however: he drops out of the diary in 1793 and John Paradise died in 1795. Moreover, his DNB entry indicates that he moved extensively in London literary circles, particularly upper class ones, and the people G meets at Paradise's are often titled (and/or scholarly). (see 18.4.1790, 10.21793, 31.3.1793). 17.2.1793 'Paradise’s, Hawke, Ingenhousz, Planta, Gillies , Dornford: abused by madame.' - the DNB refers to the eccentric behaviour and notorious rages of Lucy Ludwell, Paradise's wife, who ended her life in an American asylum, so this might be what is referred to by 'abused by madame'.
