See her brother's DNB entry "James Northcote". Nothcote moved to 39 Argyll Street in 1789 and lived there until 1822, when he moved to 8 Argyll Place. He lived with his sister Mary from the 1790s, and it seems likely that Godwin continued to visit and to see his sister after Northcote's death in 13 July 1831 - the first separate entry for Miss Northcote being shortly after Northcote's death. Although Miss Northcote is only coded after her brother's death it seems highly likely that she was present on previous occasions (not least because of Godwin's continued visits to her after the death). Howver, since all the entries are to 'Northcote' with no plurals or apostrophied entries, we have no way of guaging the extent of her presence.

The Gentleman's Magazine for 1837 records Mary Northcote's death on 25.5.1836, aged 86.
