John Nichols was a major printer, antiquarian and biographer, initially in partnership with William Bowyer, and then in his own right. He had premises in Red Lion Pasage off Fleet Street, and when these burnt down the firm moved to 25 Parliament Street, with Nichols now in partnership with his son, John Bowyer Nichols, who succeeded him. See his family's extensive DNB entry, "Nichols family".
We have not coded an entry in July 1796 for 'trial Nichols vs Beckham' since this refers to a Norwich trial that Godwin attended on his trip to East Anglia.
Godwin records his death.
The entry for 'Nichols, Printer, Parliamt Street' on 11 April 1830 refers to Nichols's son.
