SIr Thomas Charles Morgan was a philosopher who advocated a moral code based on the observation of human conduct. He was married to Lady Morgan (née Sydney Owenson) who also appears in the diary.
It is possible that other instances of Morgan may refer to Thomas Charles, although the entries to him and to Lady Morgan appear in 1835 and the formality of the entry (the use of Sir) suggests that this is a new aquaintance (Morgan was knoighted in 1811).
