  • Name: MacDonald,
  • Gender: Male
  • Birth Date:
  • Death Date:

Unidentified. MacDonald moved in radical circles and is associated with John King, William Bosville and the Newgate prisoners of the mid-1790s. A possible identification may be a Charles MacDonald, associated with the Morning Post in 1792 who spent time in Paris and was executed as a spy. Another possiblity is that it is D.E. MacDonnell, an Irish journalist and lawyer, who was referred to as MacDonald. There is one further Macdonald who Godwin met in 1816 in Scotland who has been left uncoded.

  • John G. Alger, Englishmen in the French Revolution (London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington, 1889), p. 181.
