  • Birth Date: 29  August  1769
  • Death Date: 1837
  • Occupation: actor
  • Occupation: playwright

Fawcett was a low comedian who made his London debut at Covent Garden in 1791. George Colman made him stage-manager of at the Haymarket in 1799. Colman then wrote a series of plays with Fawcett in mind which confirmed the actor's reputation.

The attribution is made on the basis that the encounter, a meal at Thomas Abthorpe Cooper's with Charles Incledon also in attendance, has a theatrical bent. Incledon and Fawcett were both involved in a dispute with the proprietors of Covent Garden in 1800. Two later entries to Jo Fawcet have also been coded (1811 and 1821).
