In the 1796 list of acquaintances, Godwin recorded meeting Cooke in 1803. George Cooke was a provincial actor until 1800 so the timing fits. Godwin met Cooke at supper at Thomas Cooper's on 23 May 1803. Prior to this, Godwin had noted that Cooke calls on 28 June 1802 but he was not at home so it is possible that this is George Cooke.
