St Clair suggests that the diary records two visits in January 1815 from George Cannon, a friend of Daniel Isaac Eaton involved in 'the murky dangerous world of illegal publishing'. He wrote a number of public letters on religious persecution under the pseudonym Erasmus Perkins, and edited a magazine, The Theological Advisor, that was heavily indebted to Percy Shelley for inspiration.
