Henry James Richter (1772–1857) was an artist and philosopher who, in 1809 began to exhibit at the Associated Artists in Water Colours, Bond Street. In 1810, he became a member and at the time of Godwin’s visit to the eighth annual exhibition on 3 June 1812, Richter was president of the organization.
