Essays, moral and political were incorporated into Essays and treatises on several subjects (London, 1753-6) 4 vols. 12mo. In both the 1777 and 1788 editions of Essays and treatises on several subjects, Essays IV and V in vol. 1, part 1 are ‘Of the first principles of government' and ‘Of the origin of government.' Essays IV and V in vol. 1, part 2, are ‘Of interest' and ‘Of the balance of trade.' WG's sale catalog lists:
